On last night’s show Sean and I had a lot of bacon news to cover. The Bacon Salt guys are raising money for cancer with a giant Kevin Bacon head made of bacon. IHOP is jumping on the bacon bandwagon, better late than never. Then Batter Blaster is releasing bacon pancakes in a can.

That’s just the tip of the iceberg. You will have to watch or listen to the show to find out what else we talked about.

The bust is being auctioned off on Ebay starting today and the proceeds go to charity. "Bacon Kevin Bacon has been well-lacquered and will stay tasty for generations to come."

Hello, readers!

You can see that I've tried to revamp some things here with The Daily Bacon, but frankly the pet photos just aren't working for me. They feel...lame. Really lame, actually.

I started that particular trend hoping it would encourage me to post more, as the blog had become more of the Monthly Bacon . What should this blog be about? What do you want to see more of? Or less of? Or do you care at all?

This is your chance to weigh in. Before it's too late. (Or something threatening like that.)

I have been kicking around the idea of getting a bacon tattoo for awhile, but don’t have the balls to actually do it. Over the weekend one of our Facebook fans dug up this blog post about the “12 Craziest Bacon Tattoos”. There were a few I haven’t seen before so I thought I would share it with you guys.

The one above is the only one I liked. It reminds me of my favorite bacon shirt from BaconShirts.com, also featured above. If I was going to get a bacon tattoo it would be a mix of the two. I like shirts logo but I also like how the pig in the tattoo has a little environment to live in. The listing of all pig parts is also a nice touch.

Check out the post and let us know what your favorites are. Also, I looked and couldn’t find any other bacon tattoos (I thought there would be more). If you find any others, let us know and we will post them up!

Any dessert that incorporates bacon into the recipe has got to be worth tasting, that’s my bet. The in-laws have a farm in central Pennsylvania with tons of animals. Here are some of my faves.

 That's a miniature horse. She wasn't terribly happy with me, either. Good thing I didn't sit on her. Just after this photo she took off and was impossible to catch. Slippery little bugger.

 This is Timothy and Kate. They like to head butt and pose for photos. (Well, really, they just wanted to eat the camera strap.)


And this is Pudge. Aw.

It's called the lion cut, but we call it the Full-on Dr. Seuss because all they leave is Sam's boots and a poof at the end of his tail. And it's hilarious.

Man, I have been trying to get this post up all week but I am in serious skull shopping overload and now completely broke. Went to my local Target on Sunday and picked up TONS of new stuff. The shelves were a little bare so I'm not sure if they were ransacked before I got there or if they were still putting stuff out. One things for sure, Target's halloween stuff is going quick. Once I'm able to I'll post a pic of my skull windfall from Target. Some of the stuff I found, like the most awesome black on black skull tablecloth ever, aren't even on the website at all!

This photo was taken in November 1931 in Chehalis, Washington at the town’s Egg Festival. The occasion was a try to break the world record for largest omelette. Two women tied bacon to their feet and skated around the warming skillet to grease it. Then a team of chefs cracked and beat 7,200 eggs and made a breakfast delight.

My friend Errin has a poodle-yorkie (porkie!) mix named Ginger, who is a tiny, 5-pound ball of energy and fur. She's not very well behaved but is far too adorable to be mad at for long. She's also into licking everything.
