On May 31st, Destination America will air 2 brand-spanking new episodes of our favorite TV show: United States of Bacon. Because the only thing better than eating a pile of bacon is watching someone else eat a pile of bacon. Chef and host Todd Fisher has traversed the country in search of restaurants serving up the best bacon dishes. Tough job, but somebody had to do it.
To celebrate the new episodes, we’re featuring our favorite Top 5 Moments on United States of Bacon. These clips will make your jaw drop and your stomach grumble with their bacon amazingness. 1. The Bacon Tower
If you haven’t seen the picture of the foot-high Bacon Tower, then you’re doing the Internet wrong. But have you seen the video of the Bacon Tower toppling? It’s in this clip featuring Seattle’s “Red Mill Burger” restaurant. Move over, Space Needle, the Bacon Tower should become the symbol of the Emerald City!
2. The Walking Ched
A triple-decker bacon cheeseburger sandwiched between two panko-crusted, deep-fried mac and cheese “buns.” It’s such a diabolical concoction of over-indulgence that you just have to see how it’s made.
3. Bacon Turtle Burgers
A trifecta of meat, each turtle burger is made of 2 hamburger patties, 3 hot dogs, and 10 strips of bacon. Forget the bun, who needs it? So adorable, you might not want to eat it. Wait, did I just say? Of course you’d want to eat it! It’s not that adorable…
3. Bacon-wrapped Meatloaf Sandwich.
You’ve seen bacon-wrapped meatloaf, how about an epic sandwich-sized version? At half a foot tall, good luck fitting this into your mouth! This behemoth is topped with 4 layers of bacon. Watch the video on how this bad boy is made. Warning: it will make you ravenously hungry!
5. Bacon Ice Cream Sundae with Bourbon Caramel
The Sweet Rose Creamery in Santa Monica serves up this concoction that is a bacon and ice cream lover’s ultimate fantasy! The Bacon Ice Cream Slider is served on a warm brioche bun, topped with bacon strips and drizzled with cinnamon syrup. It’s the ultimate bacon summer dessert!
